| Memory verse: “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.” Daniel 2:44. When God set up His kingdom, the memory verse says, all these earthly kingdoms will be broken to pieces. We will look more at these kingdoms in the next lesson. We want to look at the stone that smote the image on its feet and break it to pieces (verses 45, 46). 1. After the kingdoms of the feet of iron and clay, who does it say will set up a kingdom that will last forever? Daniel 2:44 says: “And in the days of these kings shall the ___________ of ___________ set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall _________ for ever.” 2. God’s kingdom is now in two parts. How does He rule on earth today? Luke 17:21 says: “Neither shall they say, Lo here! Or, lo there! For, behold, the ___________ of ________ is _________ ________.” Matthew 6:10 says, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Christ reigns on this earth today, but it is in the hearts of those who love and serve Him. His kingdom is a kingdom of grace. When He comes again, at the second coming, He will make up His kingdom of grace. We will look more at the kingdom of grace. 3. We are told in Hebrews 4:16 to come boldly before what? “Let us therefore ________ _________ unto the __________ of _________, that we may obtain __________, and _______ _________ to help in _______ of __________.” There must be someone on the throne or it would be useless to come to the throne. If His kingdom is of grace then He is the king of grace. A king must have subjects. But, to receive grace or favor from the king of grace, we must be of His kingdom. 4. How can a man be saved to live in the kingdom of glory, when Jesus comes? Ephesians 2:8 “For by _______ are ye saved through _______; and that not of yourselves: it is the _______ of _________.” We are first a part of the kingdom of grace before we will be part of the kingdom of glory. We look at people in the Bible like Abraham, Moses and Daniel, etc. They were all saved by grace; they were all in the kingdom of grace. All men, from the time sin entered the world, have needed this grace. 5. All men have sinned, so we all need this grace. Paul tells us, in Romans 6:23, what the results of sin are, as well as what the gift of God (or grace) does for us. “For the ________ of _________ is ___________; but the ________ of ________ is eternal ________ through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Death is the result of sin. All who sin must die. But God’s kingdom of grace has made provision for all to be saved, for the kingdom of glory. Through the blood of Christ, there is forgiveness of sin and a right to go home with Jesus when He comes. 6. In Luke 19:11, 12, Jesus gives the parable to help them see it was on earth to set up His kingdom of glory. (The disciples thought that Jesus had come to set up an earthly kingdom.) “And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should ___________ ________. 12 He said therefore, A certain _____________ went into a far country to__________ for himself a ___________, and to _________.” In this parable, the nobleman that went to a far country was Christ. He was going to a “far country” or back to heaven. To receive His kingdom, we must allow Him to work on hearts by His Spirit, so we will be ready to go home with Him when He returns. 7. What promise do we have that He will come for those who are ready? John 14:2, 3 says: “ In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to ___________ a __________ for __________. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I ________ ________ __________, and receive ________ unto myself; that where ____ _______, there ye may be also.” 8. Where did Jesus go after He left this earth? Hebrews 12:2 says: “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him _________ the _________, despising the shame, and is _______ _______ at the right hand of the throne of God.” 9. Did He take the Father’s throne? or do they rule together? Revelation 3:21 says: “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am _______ ________ _________ my ___________ in his throne.” They are both on the throne, working for my good. 10. What will Christ’s coming look like? What will Jesus sit upon? Matthew 25:31 says: “When the Son of man ________ _______ in his _________, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he ________ upon the ___________ of his ___________:” The kingdom of glory is to be established when Christ comes again in clouds of glory. Jesus told Pilate that His kingdom was not of this world. John 18:36 says: “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.” 11. Jesus is on the throne of His father, at His right hand. What is He doing? Psalms 110:4 says: “The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou ______ a ___________ for ever after the order of Melchizedek.” He is doing the work of a priest. Hebrews 9:24 says: “For Christ is not entered in the holy place made with hands, (he went to a heavenly place, a place not made with mans hands) which is the figure of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.” Romans 8:34 “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh _______________ for _________.” Christ is pleading His blood to take away our sins. When we come to Christ confessing our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. (See 1 John 1:9.) 12. When His priestly work has been completed, what will Christ receive? Daniel 7:13, 14. “I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him ________, and __________, and a ___________, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.” It says it will be a ____________ dominion. It will not be like the other kingdoms that were seen in the dream of the image. It will never be destroyed as they were. It will be forever, as we learned that forever is as long as a thing last. But it will be an everlasting kingdom, it will always be, that hard for our minds to understand. A better word to use is “eternal.” We will have eternal life. This eternal kingdom is the stone that breaks in pieces all other kingdoms. Daniel 2:44, 45 says: “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.” May the stone of God’s eternal kingdom come soon! “Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.” 1 Peter 2:7 “And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.” Matthew 21:43, 44. The is the rock cut out without hands that will smite the image and cut it into peaces.
